Carmel Gun Club is a competition-oriented club in Monterey County, California, holding matches on the fourth Saturday of most months. The schedule covers CMP-sanctioned High Power, CMP-sanctioned As-Issued Service Rifle, and Swiss ordnance rifle matches, plus CMP and Swiss-sanctioned pistol matches. Rimfire Sporter events use .22LR rifles fired from standing, sitting and kneeling at 25 and 50 yards. High Power matches are shot at 200 and 300 yards with the 600-yard string simulated, using AR-based rifles from standing, sitting and prone. Swiss Rifle matches run at 300 meters from prone with K31 or K11 ordnance rifles, and the club maintains six K31s members can use. As-Issued Service Rifle matches at 200 yards call for WWII-era rifles such as the 1903 Springfield or M1 Garand, with a Modern Military category for as-issued M1As and ARs. Pistol matches use .22LR or Swiss/CMP-authorized 9mm and .45 pistols at 25 and 50 yards, one or two-handed.
The club does not own or operate a range. Matches are conducted on the range of the Monterey County Swiss Rifle Club, and scoring uses the ShotMarker electronic system.

- •No independent range access between match dates
- •MCSRC membership limited and by invitation (Swiss heritage requirement for regular membership)
- •As-issued AR rifles currently restricted by California law
- •Modern Military category rifles limited to M1A and AR variants in as-issued configuration
