Oranco Bowmen started in the early 1950s when a group of friends met on Sundays in Huntington Beach to shoot their bows. They incorporated in 1952 with one goal: get their own range. By 1955, they had it. Today, Oranco occupies 45 acres in Chino at 17504 Pomona Rincon Rd (at the Y intersection of Euclid Avenue and the 71 Expressway) and has been there since 1980. It's the only NFAA 5-star certified range in Southern California.

Whether you need to dial in equipment, practice fundamentals, or shoot a full field round, the layout accommodates it. Layout changes occasionally to keep things fresh.

Work parties equal $40 off next year's dues. Cook shack shifts count double.
Not a member? Open to the public on Sundays 8:30 AM - 2:00 PM (excluding major shoots, work parties, holidays). Cost is $20 per archer. No equipment rental or loaner bows available—bring your own or visit a local pro shop first.
Oranco hosts competitive shoots throughout the year:
1. Rendezvous 3-D (February) – 42 unmarked targets, one arrow each 2. Big Game 3-D (April) – 42 unmarked targets, one arrow each 3. State Broadhead Championship (May) – 40 targets, marked/unmarked (two days) 4. Firecracker 3-D (June) – 42 unmarked targets, one arrow each 5. Tomahawk 3-D (October) – Indian-themed, 42 targets, two arrows, marked yardage 6. Charity 3-D & Toy Donation (December) – 42 unmarked targets, $10 entry + gift or $20 entry
Members also shoot monthly club shoots (first Sunday each month) and league events (Winter and Summer leagues, $10 per shoot).
Beginners Archery Class – 1-hour instruction (usually Saturday mornings), equipment provided, $20 for public visitors. Pre-register one week prior.
JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development) – Recurve and compound programs teaching range safety, shooting technique, focus, and confidence. For youth archers.
OBJFA (Oranco Bowmen Junior Field Archers) – Introduction to field archery for youth. Meets first Sunday of each month at 9 AM. Free for members, $20 for guests, free for cubs (11 and under).
Hunter Education & Bowhunter Education – Oranco partners with California Department of Fish & Wildlife (CDFW) and certified instructors to host family archery events and bowhunter certification classes.
The club recommends beginners take lessons at a local pro shop first. Even experienced archers benefit from instruction before trying a new bow.
Since 1952, Oranco has: - Hosted archery demos for Boy Scout, Girl Scout, and Cub Pack troops - Provided volunteers for Wounded Warriors programs - Contributed to NFAA scholarship fund - Taught beginning seminars and Hunter Education classes - Run annual Christmas charity shoots with toy donations - Assisted in wild turkey repopulation programs with other clubs and CA Department of Fish & Game
Members have won national and state championships. Internationally recognized bowhunters call Oranco home. Leadership holds regional, state, and national offices.
Oranco emphasizes that members have "worked very hard to provide a Safe, Clean and Enjoyable environment." They run work parties before major shoots for setup and general cleanup. With young archers on the range, veterans actively set the example for the sport's future.
No crossbows allowed on the range.
