Ranger Creek Goose operates guided hunts across Haskell and Knox Counties—two of the most consistent waterfowl destinations in Texas. Hundreds of thousands of specks and lesser Canadas winter here, making it a final staging point for migrating birds. From September dove and teal through January waterfowl and cranes, there's always something to pursue.
Daily scouting ensures hunters are on birds that are actively using the fields. Hunts take place over:
- •Peanut, maize, wheat fields and playas (geese)
- •Dry fields, playas, and waterholes (ducks and teal)
- •Grain and sunflower fields (dove)
Guides handle decoy setup—full body decoys, floaters, or silhouettes—and provide padded chairs, ghillie blankets, and A-frame or layout blinds. Hunters use their own shotguns; optional executive hunts available for those who want guides to handle decoy placement.

Geese: Consistent through season using decoy spreads on cultivated fields
Ducks & Teal: September teal hunts finish before sunrise. Mixed bags common in late season with strong mallard action.
Dove: Heavy September activity over grain and sunflower fields. Combo teal/dove hunts available.
Sandhill Cranes: Hunts available (seasonal details in source)
- •Required: 12-gauge 3-inch or larger shotgun, ammunition (#2 shot or larger), hunting license, State and Federal Waterfowl Stamp, Hunter Safety Certificate
- •Recommended: Waders, waterproof boots, rain gear, face mask, camo clothing, camera

Haskell Lodge provides bunk-style lodging. Recommended hotel: Ameristay Inn & Suites Haskell. Dogs allowed on private groups if trained and steady to shot (pre-approval required).
