Cowboy Silhouette Match Program - Golden Gun Club

Golden Gun Club's Cowboy Silhouette program runs year-round with three distinct matches, each catering to different cartridges and distances. All matches follow strict traditional firearm requirements: lever-action, pump-action, or single-shot rifles only with exposed hammers and iron sights. No semi-autos, box-fed rifles, or scopes allowed.

• •Second Sunday of each month | Limited to 32 shooters

40-round match fired offhand at full-size steel silhouettes: - Chickens at 50 meters - Pigs at 100 meters - Turkeys at 150 meters - Rams at 200 meters

Approved cartridges: .25-35, .30-30, .32WS, .32-40, .357 mag, .38 spec, .38-40, .38-55, .41 mag, .44 mag/spec, .44-40, .45 Long Colt, .45-70. Rifles must have solid wood stocks (no synthetic or laminated).

• •Third Sunday of each month | Limited to 48 shooters

40-round match at half-size steel silhouettes from 40-100 meters. Compete with lever-action/pump/single-shot rifles or single-action revolvers (10¾" barrels or less, iron sights only).

Approved cartridges: .25-20, .32 H&R mag, .32-20, .357 mag (reduced load), .38 special, .38-40, .41 mag (reduced load), .44-40, .44 mag (reduced load), .45 Long Colt, .22 mag. Lead bullets only, maximum 1,100 FPS velocity.

• •Fourth Saturday of each month | Limited to 48 shooters

40-round match at half-size silhouettes using standard .22 S, L, or LR ammunition only (no magnum or hyper-velocity). Same firearm requirements as pistol caliber matches.
