Full description and what we offer
Pomocook Hunting Preserve LLP operates on the site of the former Millstream Hunting Preserve, taking over in spring 2024 under new leadership. The preserve sits on historically significant land—the area was known as "Pomakuck" or "Pomocook" by the Mohegans and has been used for hunting since colonial times. Major John Mason, deputy governor of the Connecticut Colony, received the original 500-acre grant in 1663.
Today, the preserve is run by Don Favry's daughter Leahbeth and son-in-law Dan Lewandowski, along with Kevin and Amy Bentley. They manage 300 acres of managed hunting land in Lebanon's dairy farm country, combining agricultural practices that produce large bucks, healthy doe populations, and abundant upland game.
Dog Training Memberships & GSP Puppies – Licensed dog training area. Train your hunting dog on live birds during offseason (April 1 – September 14). The preserve provides birds at cost. They occasionally breed German Shorthair Pointers; inquire about waiting list.
