Full description and what we offer
Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit membership organization with supporters in all 50 states and Washington D.C. Unlike gun retailers or ranges, FPC focuses exclusively on legal action and policy work to challenge unconstitutional firearms restrictions.
FPC operates through three primary channels:
FPC maintains active litigation across federal district courts and appellate courts:
| Case Type | Examples |
|---|---|
| Assault Weapon Bans | Miller v. Bonta (California), Gray v. Jennings (Delaware), Cheeseman v. Platkin (New Jersey), Hartford v. Ferguson (Washington) |
| Magazine Bans | Graham v. Jennings (Delaware), Wiese v. Bonta (California), Sullivan v. Ferguson (Washington) |
| Carry Restrictions | Christian v. James (New York), Koons v. Platkin (New Jersey), Carralero v. Bonta (California) |
| NFA Challenges | Jensen v. ATF, Brown v. ATF, Palmer v. Lombardo (Nevada) |
| Age Restrictions | Reese v. ATF (under-21 handgun ban), Paris v. SAF (Pennsylvania) |
| Self-Manufacturing Bans | Rigby v. Jennings (Delaware), Fahr v. San Diego (California), Montgomery v. Rosenblum (Oregon) |
FPC has achieved multiple recent wins including the Fifth Circuit ruling in Reese v. ATF (October 2025) challenging the federal ban on handgun sales to under-21 adults, and Hoffman v. Bonta (August 2025) striking down California's non-resident carry restrictions.
"Our Current Mission is to restore the essential right to keep and bear arms throughout the United States."
FPC's stated objectives include: - Eliminating bans on common, constitutionally protected arms including semi-automatic firearms and standard magazines - Striking down restrictions on firearm carry in public spaces - Removing barriers to firearm acquisition and possession by non-dangerous adults 18+ - Target completion date: December 31, 2032
The organization operates under core beliefs centered on natural rights theory—that the right to keep and bear arms is an inherent human right, not a government privilege. They view access to firearms as a leading indicator of broader government respect for individual liberty.
FPC distinguishes itself from other gun rights organizations by emphasizing strategic, high-impact litigation over legislative lobbying or retail operations.
FPC has filed briefs and pursued cases on multiple fronts: - Third Circuit Appeal - Koons v. Platkin challenging New Jersey's public carry bans granted full-court review (December 2025) - Hawaii Gun Control - Filed Supreme Court brief on Hawaii's "Vampire Rule" and racist history of gun control (November 2025) - Massachusetts Lawsuit - Motion for summary judgment in Escher v. Noble challenging handgun ban for 18-20 year-olds (November 2025) - Trump Administration - FPC proposal to create DOJ Second Amendment Rights Section enacted (November 2025)
