Full description and what we offer
Jenkins Hunting Camp has been family-operated since the early 1970s when Larry Jenkins established the outfitting business. His son Tedd Jenkins now runs the camp and personally guides every hunt—this isn't typical in the outfitting industry where you often get paired with staff guides instead of the owner.
The camp sits in the Greys River area of western Wyoming at approximately 9,000 ft elevation, providing direct truck access without pack trips. This location puts hunters in the heart of three major game management areas with summer range for Rocky Mountain elk and mule deer, all within Bridger-Teton National Forest. They operate under permit as Big Game #153 through Teton-Bridger National Forest.

Hunters ride mountain-trained horses that know the terrain, but the camp philosophy is to minimize saddle time. Guides use spot-and-stalk techniques and strategic positioning based on the game and conditions. They focus on efficiency—getting you to the animal rather than spending entire days in the saddle.
What's Included—No Hidden Charges: - Personal guiding by Tedd Jenkins - Airport pickups from nearby airports and town transportation - Mountain-trained horses and trail logistics - Game meat processing and delivery to local processor (or you take it home) - Trophy caping if you plan to mount - Home-cooked meals and comfortable beds at camp
Jenkins urges hunters to book early, even before you know if you've drawn a license. A 100% refundable deposit holds your spot. Once you're accepted in the draw, you're confirmed. This matters because non-resident elk licenses in Wyoming are drawn on a basis that changes yearly—planning ahead is critical.

Greys River in the Rocky Mountains of western Wyoming sits in Bridger-Teton National Forest country. The 9,000 ft elevation and access to all three major game management areas make it ideal for early-season September elk hunts when bulls are most vocal and active.
