That single innovation revolutionized the entire shooting range industry. Now Savage Range Systems manufactures a complete line of bullet traps, shoot houses, target systems, and range equipment based on this core technology.

• •Wet Snail® Traps are the flagship product. Low-angle deflection ramps (12° for rifle, 15° for pistol) guide bullets into the round deceleration chamber. A mixture of biodegradable lubricant and water encapsulates lead particles before they become airborne—virtually eliminating the lead dust problem that haunts traditional ranges.

• •Handles all conventional ammunition: shotguns, handguns, rifles up to .460 Weatherby (8100 FPE)
• •Safe for point-blank and cross-range tactical firing
• •AR500 steel deflection ramps (1/4" to 1/2" thick depending on model)
• •Optional Automatic Bullet Recovery System (ABRS) with conveyor collection

• •Big Mouth Snail (Patent #8,459,651) eliminates vertical faces and edges at the throat. No hardened edge protectors needed. Available on wet, dry, and air barrier versions.

• •Savage Air Barrier System is the dry trap alternative. Uses patented "positive pressure" technology to create a barrier at the deceleration chamber throat, keeping contaminants inside. It's a closed-loop system—air recirculates through HEPA filters instead of exhausting to the environment. Uses less energy than competing systems.

• •Rubber Traps for budget or space-constrained builds. Only requires 14' of floor space versus the standard 24' for Wet Snail systems. Handles all ammunition including armor-piercing up to .50 cal BMG.

• •Check-it!™ Series - Freestanding clearing stations designed to safely verify firearms are unloaded before storage or cleaning. 19" x 10" x 27", weighs 95 lbs, handles up to 3000 FPE, $1,295.

• •Forensic Buddy - Non-destructive bullet capture for ballistic comparison. Portable unit (under 60 lbs) with special ballistic media that captures handgun rounds intact. Media is reusable. Handles up to .454 Casul. $6,395.

These aren't standard structures. Savage builds them from overlapping AR500 steel plates bolted together—seams overlap by at least 3", walls are 1/2" thick steel. The construction method eliminates gaps and contains every ounce of splatter.
