LCHL operates across approximately 1,000 acres of prime deer and hog habitat in Hampton County near the Savannah River in Garnett—some of the most productive hunting real estate in the state.
Accommodations & Meals - 3-bedroom ranch-style lodge with full home amenities - 2 home-cooked meals daily (brunch and dinner) - Mrs. Amy handles the kitchen: think venison burritos, wild hog breakfast casserole, prime rib, pork loin, hog/venison stuffed pasta shells - All linens, bedding, and towels provided - Most hunters leave a few pounds heavier
Stand Setup & Bait Strategy - Safe, comfortable single and two-person box blinds with shooting rails - Hardwood bottoms, pine plantations, food plots, and cotton fields - Corn bait placed 75-150 yards from stands to draw animals in and create high-percentage shots - Easy access to stands that offer great sightlines
Season: August 15 – January 1st Hunt Structure: - Start before daylight in covered box stands - Hunt until mid-morning, then return to lodge for lunch - Afternoon/evening hunts begin about 4 hours before sunset, continue 30 minutes after official sunset - LCHL staff handles all field dressing, skinning, and quartering
Harvest Limits: - 2-day hunts: 1 quality buck (6pts minimum) + 1 doe - 3+ day hunts: 2 quality bucks (6pts minimum, second must have 14" spread) + 1 doe - $250 fine per undersized buck (LCHL policy) - Bucks only August 15 – September 14 (per SC DNR)

Season: Year-round, Jan 1 – June 1 for prime hunting Hunt Timing: - Start approximately 2 hours before dark - Hunt 4+ hours after sunset to capitalize on nocturnal hog movement - Daytime movement possible in early afternoon

Hogs can also be taken during deer hunts, but the afternoon/night hunts are specifically designed for this nocturnal game.
Eastern wild turkey hunts available with guided and unguided options. All meals and lodging included. Limited to 4 weekends annually. Minimum 2 hunters per booking. Call for details and availability.
LCHL uses a handheld thermal viewer and their lodge dog Crusty (a tracking dog with a 100% success rate in 2025) to locate harvested deer and hogs in the thick lowcountry brush. They also work with Thin Red Line Tracking for additional support when needed.
Timeline: - Prime dates book 3 months to 1 year in advance - Check availability calendar or call for last-minute openings - $500 or 50% deposit (whichever is greater) required within 48 hours - Final balance due 10 days before hunt - All deposits and payments are non-refundable - Hunts cannot be rescheduled (reschedule = booking new hunt on different dates) - You may find a replacement hunter if you can't make your dates

LCHL updates their hunting reports weekly with kill photos, videos, and weather conditions. Recent seasons have featured consistent success on whitetail bucks (160-175 lbs, 8-9 pointers), does, and wild hogs (40-187 lbs). The lodge maintains detailed logs of hunter success and seasonal patterns that inform strategy.
