The moon has two very significant gravitational peak times every day—these are when the moon is closest to Earth. That pull is strong enough to move the oceans and trigger feeding behavior in animals and fish. The key: only a handful of days each month do these peaks occur at primetime (dawn/dusk) when deer naturally want to move anyway.

Most mature bucks have learned it's unsafe to move during daylight after surviving multiple hunting seasons.
