Menard County Sportsmans Club

Menard County Sportsman's Club operates out of the Menard County Fairgrounds just north of Petersburg, with four dedicated competition trap fields. The facility is equipped with Pat-Trap automatic throwers and Canterbury wireless voice-activated releases on every field, throwing White Flyer Orange Dome targets.

The club was founded by a group of hunters and shooters dedicated to preserving hunting, fishing, and trapshooting in central Illinois. They've stuck to that mission—growing membership, expanding programs, and staying active in the regional shooting community.

Regular Shooting: - Trap League (Tuesdays, 5pm-completion) — $16 for members, $18 non-members - Youth League (Thursdays, 6pm-completion, starting April) — youth scholastic program - Practice Rounds (Saturdays, 9am-noon) — $7 for members, $8 non-members

Competitions: - ATA-registered events throughout the year (typically May, June, July, September, October) - Bob O'Brien Memorial Shoot (June) - Illini Indian Zone Shoot (July) - Annual Trophy Shoot (September) - Open to the public during regular hours

Private & Corporate Events: Available for booking.

All registered ATA events follow ATA rules. Management reserves right to refuse entries or withdraw shooters for interference, substance violations, or safety issues. No shooter wins more than one trophy per event. Targets are reset at the start of each day and can be adjusted as needed during competition.
