Location details and information
Waverly Archery Club operates a dedicated archery facility southeast of Waverly on beautiful acreage bordered by Babcock woods to the south and the Cedar River to the north. The club is built for serious practice and competition.
Permanent Setup: - 25-target 3D range across 2 courses set up year-round during summer months - 14-target NFAA field, hunter, and animal range with upgraded target butts - Practice range for warm-ups and skill work - Clubhouse and shelter for meetings and member gatherings
The 3D courses wind through forest loops, giving shooters realistic hunting scenarios. The NFAA field range follows standard scoring: black center X-rings worth 5 points, white rings 4 points, outer black rings 3 points.
Unlike membership-only ranges, Waverly hosts public 3D shoots throughout the year:

Members get unlimited range access anytime. Two membership types:
- •Single Membership: $50/year (ages 18+)
- •Family Membership: $75/year (married couples, partners, dependents 18 or younger, or school-age dependents at same address)
Members receive gate and clubhouse combinations after signing the Rules of the Range. The club runs on volunteers who maintain the grounds, set up/tear down for shoots, and keep everything running.
This isn't a commercial range with heavy foot traffic. Waverly is a volunteer-run club where members maintain the property and the shooting experience. Eagle Scout projects have improved the facility over the years. The 3D courses are genuinely set in forest—not flat, not boring.
Winter Operations: After the last 3D shoot of the year, courses get prepped for winter. The Red Range gets burlap animal targets; the White and Blue ranges come down. Practice range stays open year-round.
- •No broadheads on the range—period. Violation means immediate removal and membership revocation.
- •Guests: Members can bring guests free once, then $10 for second visit.
- •Camping: Allowed in designated areas; alcohol only in camping areas after shooting hours.
- •Pets: Must be leashed and owners clean up after them.
- •Last one out: Responsible for locking the clubhouse and gate.
Honor-system snacks and drinks in the clubhouse ($1 per item). The club maintains a grievance policy for rule violations—72 hours to report, 30-day response window.
