Irish Creek Outfitters operates private hunting property near Haven, Kansas—just 40 miles northwest of Wichita and 15 minutes from Hutchinson. Steve and Margy Westfahl have built the operation around a mix of CRP, grassland, cropland, and wooded creek areas that hold solid populations of whitetail deer, turkeys, pheasants, quail, ducks, and geese.

• •Whitetail Deer - Units 15 & 6 hold an outstanding whitetail population. All deer hunts run 5 days, 6 nights with lodge included. Semi-guided hunts with box blinds, ladder stands, and ground blinds already set up. You can bring your own stands too. Processing available on-site or 4 miles away at a local processor. Seasons run:
• •Muzzleload: Sept 15-28
• •Archery: Sept 15-Dec 31
• •Firearm: Dec 3-14

• •Upland Birds (Pheasant & Quail) - CRP and crop residue fields make for consistent hunting. Both wild bird and released bird hunts available Nov 8-Jan 31. Rates run $350/day self-guided or $450/day guided (includes lodge). Released bird hunts add the cost of birds.

• •Spring Turkey - Archery-only April 6-14, then firearm or archery April 15-May 31. Self-guided 2-day hunts at $600 (includes lodge). Gobbler only, one bird per hunter. Non-residents need a lottery permit.

• •Waterfowl - Duck hunts run Nov 1-Jan 4 and Jan 17-25. Geese Sept 1-2, then Nov 5-Feb 15. Access to local farm ponds, Cheney Lake, the Arkansas River, and the Ninnescah River. Guided and self-guided available.

• •Combo Hunts - When seasons overlap, early morning goose hunts combine with afternoon pheasant/quail hunts.

The Irish Creek Lodge is a remodeled 4,000+ sq ft farmhouse sleeping up to 21 people across 7 large bedrooms and 4 full bathrooms. Two-story layout with separate living areas that can close off for privacy. Each level has its own kitchen (full appliances), living area, and dining space. Amenities include washer/dryer on each level, DishNet TVs, ping pong table, covered patio, fire pit, Weber grill, and free wireless internet.

The lodge hosts corporate retreats, church groups, ball teams, scout outings, and family reunions. The location sits 15 minutes from Hutchinson and nearby attractions like the Cosmosphere Space Museum, Yoder Amish Community, and Salt Mine Museum (600 ft below street level).
