Wade Ranch has operated as a working farm and family property since 1959, when Leslie's grandparents purchased the land and original homestead. The ranch itself dates back to 1869. In a remarkable piece of Kansas history, the original 100-year-old farmhouse was moved by one of the few female house movers in the United States in 1978 to save it from demolition by the Army Corp of Engineers during the Hillsdale Lake development.
Today, Wade Ranch sits on private land adjacent to the 8,000-acre Hillsdale Wildlife Area, offering hunters a unique combination of controlled private hunting and massive public land access.
