Buck Snort Long Hunters

Bucksnort Longhunters operates as a dedicated muzzleloading gun club based in the Elizabethtown area of Hardin County, Kentucky. The club has established itself as the go-to organization for black powder shooters and historical firearms enthusiasts throughout the region and beyond.

The club hosts regular monthly shooting events throughout the year, with wins and shoot dates posted on their calendar. These events welcome both members and guests—you don't need to be a member to participate. Bring your muzzleloader and you're good to show up. Bucksnort's flagship event is the annual 18th Century Market Fair, held at Pritchard Community Center in Elizabethtown. This multi-day event has run for over 17 years and attracts vendors and visitors from across the region, including participants from as far as St. Louis. The fair is a deep dive into Kentucky frontier history—all merchandise is researched and made using period-authentic methods.

Bucksnort hosts the Kentucky Corps of Long Riflemen woods walk challenge each September, combining it with a fall rendezvous camping event. The rendezvous runs multi-day (typically Friday-Sunday) with camping fees around $10-$20 and meals provided on Saturday. These events focus on camp life and historical shooting challenges.
