Full description and what we offer
Tylor Kelly Camps started in 1975 when Tylor and Leitha Kelly built a small hotdog stand on the bank of the Allagash River to feed canoeists. That evolved into Two River Lunch in 1985—a full-service restaurant with attached bunkhouse built partly from salvaged ice bridge timber. When a logging accident left Tylor with a broken spine, his son Wade earned his Maine guide license in 1987 and built the hunting outfitting business into what it is today.
Now Wade and Sue Kelly operate a fully insured, commercially licensed Maine guide service with multiple lodging options, a riverside restaurant, and 35+ years of combined guiding experience in the remote North Maine Woods.
Guided Hunts - Moose hunts (primary focus, many repeat clients harvesting quality bulls) - Black bear hunts (elevated ground blinds, spring and fall seasons) - Whitetail deer hunts - Grouse hunts - Bear hunting with hounds
Fishing & Recreation - Native brook trout guided fishing trips - Backcountry musky fishing expeditions - Allagash Wilderness Waterway canoe and kayak trips - Outpost and shuttle services for self-guided paddlers - Canoe and kayak rentals
Lodging & Meals - Kelly's Northwoods Lodge (newly renovated) - Riverfront cabins with St. John River views - Private sleeping areas with bathrooms and showers - All meals included (breakfast, lunch, dinner—home-cooked and plentiful) - Riverside bonfires in evenings
Wade Kelly - Owner/operator, Registered Master Maine Guide for 35+ years. Lifelong Allagash resident trained in hunting, fishing, and trapping by his father and grandfather. Known as an outstanding tracker—clients report his comment after a long blood trail: "if I can't find it, it ain't dead." Served on the Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Advisory Council (Aroostook County Representative, 2010-2013).
Sue Kelly - Owner/operator, Registered Maine Guide since 2009. Originally from coastal Lincolnville, Maine. Avid deer and grouse hunter who also serves as head cook. Guides bear and moose hunters.
"We don't base our success on the number of animals harvested but on the number of clients who want to return, regardless of success. We believe success is in the overall experience." — Tylor Kelly Camps philosophy
Allagash, Maine - Located at the confluence of the Allagash and St. John Rivers in remote northern Maine. Situated on the doorstep of North Maine Woods, an uninhabited wilderness region where wildlife abounds.
77A Dickey RD Allagash, ME 04774 207-398-4478
Testimonials highlight: - Quality of guides (especially Wade Kelly's experience and tracking ability) - Exceptional food prepared by Sue - Clean, comfortable lodging - Bears and moose on bait cameras and stand placements - Professional yet welcoming atmosphere - Riverside cabin views - High success rates across multiple hunt types - Willingness to share scouting information and proven spots - Multi-generational hunting trips (fathers, sons, grandsons) - Repeat clientele returning year after year
Recent harvests mentioned: 745 lb moose with 37" spread, 660 lb dressed weight moose, 57" bull (MASTC book-qualified), 284 lb boar taken with bow, multiple bears on opening nights.
Three core principles:
1. Give Honest Information - Transparent about success rates, accommodations, meals, hunting practices. No embellishment. 2. Provide a Valuable Experience - Success measured by return clients, not animal counts. 3. Quality Over Quantity - Small groups at camp allow focus on details and individuals rather than volume.
Two River Lunch (the original restaurant from 1985) is now owned and operated by Wade's sister Darlene. Serves hunters, canoeists, and locals with all-you-can-eat meals, always-on coffee, reasonable prices.
