Gunsmoke Lodge

Gunsmoke Lodge is a guided hunting outfitter built on family and outdoor passion. Owner Shawn Lawson Jr. earned his Maine Guide license in 2014 and has spent years building experience across Maine's wilderness. In 2023, he partnered with Tracy Best, who brings 50 years of bear hunting with hounds and 15 years guiding in Maine.

• •Bear Hunts — 6-day hunts over bait ($2,500) or with hounds ($3,200). Meals, lodging, game processing, land use, and gate fees included.

• •Moose Hunts — One-week fully guided hunts ($3,600) in zones 18 and 10 (zones 1 and 2 by request). Based on Maine Moose Permit Lottery assignments. Meals, lodging, and game processing included.

• •Deer Hunts — One-week semi-guided hunts ($750 in Bradford area). Lodging and tree stands provided. Meals not included.

• •Do-It-Yourself Bear Hunts — $1,800 includes two pre-baited sites, tree stand, bait for hunt days, and cooler storage. No meals or lodging.

• •Cabin Rentals — The lodge also accommodates vacationers. Easy connector trail access for snowmobilers and ATV riders heading to Moosehead Lake, Greenville, Millinocket, and Houlton.

Every guide on staff has trusted knowledge of Maine's wilderness. Shawn handles primary guiding and makes sure each client has the best possible experience. The lodge is built around getting hunters in the field and creating memories—expect crazy stories at the breakfast table and around the fire at night.

Located about 30 miles northwest of Bangor in Bradford, Maine. Now booking for the 2027 season. A $500 deposit holds your spot; half the total must be paid by end of May (non-refundable), with the balance due at arrival.
