Move United Expands National Adaptive Shooting League

Move United operates the National Adaptive Shooting League, a network of community-based programs designed specifically for individuals with disabilities and wounded warfighters to compete in air rifle and air pistol shooting.

Since 2015, Move United has established and expanded adaptive shooting programs in more than 20 markets across the country. The league removes barriers—whether you're blind, paraplegic, quadriplegic, or dealing with any other disability, the sport can be adapted to work for you.

You can participate as: - Athlete - Compete in local programs or national competitions - Coach - Help develop programs and mentor new shooters - Volunteer - Support events and training initiatives

Move United offers multiple ways to compete:

"The opportunity to do an online match gives a nice goal every month. Shooting air rifle is peaceful for me. It is actually relaxing."

Jay Martin, a wounded veteran from Chantilly, Virginia, shoots air rifle four or five days a week and competes in virtual matches as he works toward making the national para shooting team. He also coaches other service members and individuals with disabilities, emphasizing that the sport offers genuine accessibility: "There are so many ways to make it work for everybody. So far, we haven't seen someone come in and not been able to get them shooting."

Wounded veterans and individuals with physical disabilities are encouraged to join. Programs differ by location, so find your local Move United member organization or community partner to learn about opportunities in your area. Virtual participation is available nationwide.
