MV Hunt Club solves a critical problem on Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket: massive white-tailed deer overpopulation. State biologists consider 6-8 deer per square mile healthy. On the islands, densities reach as high as 100 deer per square mile in some areas—making coordinated hunting essential.
Large tracts of hunting land that were once accessible have closed off. Firearm discharge setbacks, town bylaws requiring written permission, and limited property access have created a trespassing problem while allowing too few deer to be removed from the population. Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket are the only Massachusetts wildlife management zones allowing unlimited antlerless deer harvests—specifically because of this crisis.
MV Hunt Club bridges the gap between hunters who need access and landowners who need deer removal.
