The Massachusetts Amateur Trapshooting Association (MATA) has been the official voice of trap shooting in the state since 1911. They regulate registered trapshooting according to Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA) rules and serve as the liaison between the national ATA and Massachusetts's member clubs.
MATA coordinates with multiple shooting clubs across Massachusetts, including: - North Leominster Rod & Gun Club - Royalston Fish & Game Club - And others throughout the state
"The purpose of the Massachusetts Amateur Trapshooting Association shall be to promote the sport of trapshooting, to foster the spirit of fair play and fellowship, to regulate registered trapshooting in this state according to the rules of the Amateur Trapshooting Association."
Shooters interested in registered trap competition can join through membership. MATA provides current shoot schedules, official ATA rulebooks, and information on upcoming competitions. The organization maintains a Hall of Fame recognizing outstanding competitors and contributions to the sport.
