Sippican Rod and Gun Club has been a cornerstone of the Rochester shooting community for over 60 years. Incorporated in 1963, the club's core mission remains straightforward: promote legitimate sport shooting, encourage safe firearm handling, and build the kind of sportsmanship that comes from organized competition and shared values.
Regular Shooting Events: - Sunday Morning Trap Shoots: 10am–12pm, 5-trap competition format, $5 per round. Runs year-round (or until ammo runs out) - Women's League: 2nd Saturday of each month, 12:30–2:30pm on the professional range. Handgun and multi-discipline shooting in a non-competitive, social atmosphere for all skill levels - Rifle, Pistol, Revolver & Archery: Organized competitions and practice with adherence to Massachusetts fish and game regulations
Community Activities: - Sunday morning breakfast on the 2nd and 4th Sundays (7–11am) - Membership meetings 6 times yearly (2nd Thursday: February, April, June, August, September, November)
The club is led by an active Board of Directors and staffed by NRA-certified instructors and range safety officers. The Women's League is directed by Michelle Pierce, an NRA Certified Instructor and Range Safety Officer who emphasizes accessibility for shooters of all experience levels.
Two $1,000 annual scholarships available to local high school seniors and college students. Applications due April 30th.
This is a club built on actual shooting—not just retail. The focus is on marksmanship improvement, safe handling, and the values that come with organized sport: honesty, fellowship, self-discipline, and team play. It's the kind of place that fills a real need in the community.
