Springfield Sportsman's Club

Springfield Sportsman's Club operates as a complete shooting facility at 215 Wood Hill Road in Monson, Massachusetts, in the heart of Western Massachusetts. The club is known for its diverse range infrastructure and active competitive community.

The pistol area features 7 covered shooting pits—designed specifically for private, safer practice compared to open firing lines. These pits are ideal for new shooters learning proper gun safety. Rimfire .22 rifles are permitted in the pistol pits as training tools. Pistol Caliber Carbines (PCC) are also allowed.

Beyond pistol, members access:

USPSA Pistol Matches - Held 4th Sunday of every month (April–November) - Home league: Monson Action Shooters - Typical match: 5–6 stages, 130–150 rounds - Match fee: $25 - Registration 8:30–9:15 a.m., shooting starts 9:30 a.m. - Open to all handguns and sights

All match proceeds go directly toward pistol pit and club improvements

The club emphasizes the four core rules of firearm safety: 1. All guns are always loaded—treat them that way 2. Never let the muzzle cover anything you're not willing to destroy 3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target 4. Be sure of your target and what's behind it

• •No rifle or shotgun on pistol ranges (except rimfire .22s and PCCs)
• •Members provide own targets and stands
• •Must clean up after use
• •No rock shooting; all bullets must impact berms
• •Continuous club improvements based on member feedback
