The Minnesota State Archery Association is the primary organization connecting archers, archery clubs, and pro-shops across Minnesota. The MSAA promotes archery as a sport and recreational activity through sanctioned events, education, and community building.
The MSAA State Target Tournament uses the large 122cm multi-colored face and is held outdoors with age-based divisions:
| Division | Shooting Distances |
|---|---|
| Adults & Young Adults (15-17) | 60, 50, 40 yards |
| Youth (12-14) | 50, 40, 30 yards |
| Cubs (8-11) | 30, 20, 10 yards |
| Junior Cub (7 and under) | 20, 15, 10 yards |
Archers shoot 30 arrows from each distance (90 total for adults). Six arrows are shot per "end" with two practice ends allowed before scoring begins.
The MSAA publishes detailed technical articles on archery fundamentals. Member-submitted content covers topics like:
The organization emphasizes working with local pro-shops and clubs for equipment advice. Articles regularly reference specific products like Victory VFORCE and VAP arrows, Easton Superdrive shafts, and major bow manufacturers like Bowtech.
MSAA offers individual membership to archers and maintains relationships with local clubs and pro-shops throughout Minnesota. Members receive access to event schedules, The Minnesota Arrow magazine, and participation in state-sanctioned competitions.
Mailing Address: MSAA Secretary 215 N. 22nd Ave West Duluth, MN 55806
