Hook-N-Trigger Guide Service operates out of Deerwood and specializes in guided upland game hunting and fishing throughout Minnesota. Owner Tim brings decades of scouting experience to every trip, with a particular expertise in ruffed grouse and woodcock hunting in Crow Wing and Cass Counties.

• •Ruffed Grouse & Woodcock - Tim's primary focus. He knows where the best "pockets" of habitat are—and he says 90% of grouse are in 10% of the habitat. Early season (mid-September through early October) can be challenging with poor visibility and broods still together. October hunts are ideal. Late December can be exceptional if you're willing to cover ground in deep snow.

• •Pheasant Hunts - Available throughout western and southwestern Minnesota from mid-October through early January.

• •Quail Hunts - Expanded offerings planned for Gambel's, Scaled, and Mearns Quail in Southern Arizona starting winter 2024/2025.

The Brainerd Lakes Area is Tim's primary fishing playground. He targets musky water (which holds big bass, panfish, walleye, and pike), undeveloped wilderness lakes, and portions of the Mississippi River. Multi-day trips extend to Lakes Bemidji and Vermilion up north.

The "Hook and Trigger" package combines fishing and hunting on the same trip—ideal if you want to mix both pursuits.
