St. Joseph Rod & Gun Club isn't just a membership organization—it's a conservation operation that has stewarded three Minnesota lakes since 1954. What started as a local sportsmen's group has grown into a 100% non-profit that combines lake management, firearms safety education, and genuine outdoor community.
- •Private Lake Access - Members gain exclusive use of launch ramps at three managed lakes:
- •Kraemer Lake
- •Watab (Long) Lake
- •Rassier Lake
All are located in St. Joseph, MN, supporting fishing, boating, and wildlife habitat.
- •Firearms Safety Training - The club has sponsored certified firearms safety courses since 1972. This isn't a side program—it's core to their mission and continues to serve youth and adults today.
- •Community Events - Year-round activities include:
- •Annual Ice Fishing Contest (February, Kraemer Lake)
- •Monthly membership meetings (3rd Monday, 7 PM at American Legion)
- •Door prize drawings at every meeting
- •Gun raffles with Savage, Ruger, Stoeger, and Henry rifles as prizes
- •Birdhouse building events for families

The club is affiliated with the Minnesota Conservation Federation and National Wildlife Federation, reflecting decades of habitat management and outdoor education.
