Wild Acres solves the problem most sportsmen face: finding good hunting close to home. Instead of taking time off to chase game in remote areas, you get a fully licensed Minnesota DNR shooting preserve with guaranteed birds—located just 5.5 miles northeast of Pequot Lakes.
The property spans 500 acres across varied terrain: fields, wetlands, and woodlands. The farm stocks quail, pheasant, wild turkey, partridge, and mallards. Deer hunting is also available for members only.
Don't confuse this with canned hunting. Shooting preserves date back to 1910 in New York—they're legitimate. Finding, flushing, and bagging birds here requires real skill and well-trained dogs. The main difference from wild hunting is knowing the birds are here. You leave with a full game pouch and the experience of a natural landscape.
Safety First: Marked trails let staff know where everyone is hunting. No surprises, no parties crossing paths.
Sharp your skills before the season opens. The fully automatic remote-controlled sporting clays course runs 50 stations of surprise shots—clay bird shooting at its most demanding. A regulation trap range sits by the farm clubhouse.

The rustic lodge provides a friendly atmosphere and clubhouse refreshments after shooting. For groups of 20+, Mary offers a food truck service (request in advance). The property includes an RV park for overnight stays.

From Brainerd, head north on Highway 371 through Pequot Lakes. Turn east on County Road 16 at A Pine Restaurant, then follow signs to Wild Acres Road.
