Full description and what we offer
James Olson grew up hunting and fishing in Montana's mountains. After graduating from Montana State University in 2010, he spent years refining his craft at Pro Mount School of Taxidermy before launching Dead On Taxidermy in summer 2022. He's backed by Laurynn Olson, who handles operations and marketing—she previously ran student engagement and branding at MSU.
Tanned hides and capes are professionally garment tanned and take 5–9 months.
Bring your animal in. You pay a 50% deposit (cash, check, or credit card accepted). They send it to the tannery and get to work. Once finished, you have 30 days to pick up or arrange shipping. Storage fees apply after that.

They keep finished mounts available for sale, including moose ($5,000), elk ($3,500), and deer shoulder mounts ($350–$2,800). Also stock branded apparel—hoodies, hats, and t-shirts.
