Eastslope Outfitters

Eastslope Outfitters gives you guided access to thousands of acres of private hunting land in southeast Montana, within an hour's drive of Billings. Their main operation, Whitetail Camp, sits about 10 miles north of Custer on a private ranch in the Yellowstone River valley.

The landscape is diverse: sagebrush, prairie grasses, pine ridges, sandstone buttes, heavily timbered river bottoms, and cropland rich in alfalfa, corn, and spring grains. They limit hunter numbers on their properties to preserve the hunting experience.

• •Whitetail Deer — Called "Ghosts of the Yellowstone" for their quality genetics. Hunts run from 30+ high-quality tree stands spread throughout the Yellowstone River bottom, thick with willows, wild roses, and Cottonwoods.

• •Mule Deer — Spot and stalk hunts across thousands of acres. Expect to cover country; bring good boots and hunting smarts.

• •Waterfowl — Featured in North America's Greatest Waterfowl Lodges & Outfitters. The Yellowstone River is a major resting area for 100,000+ migratory birds. Hunt on private fields where birds are less wary. Season runs October–January.

• •Upland Birds — Wild pheasant, sharptail grouse, and Hungarian partridge in the Yellowstone River valley. No pen-raised birds—genuine wild hunts. Most clients prefer 20-gauge shotguns.

• •Antelope — Added to deer hunts or booked separately. Methods include spot and stalk, decoy, or waterhole blinds depending on conditions.

• •Wild Turkey — Fall Merriam turkey hunts available as add-ons.

• •Cast'n'Blast Combo — Mix Bighorn River trout fishing with your hunt of choice. Based out of their Old Hookers Guest House facility.

Bonus hunts (pheasant, upland birds, waterfowl, prairie dogs, or fly fishing on the Bighorn River) are available at no extra charge once you've bagged your limit. 50% deposit required (personal or business checks only—no credit cards).

NOT included: Montana licenses, game processing/shipping, ammunition, gear, guide gratuity, or alcohol.
