Prairie Rock sits on 40+ miles of the famed North Platte River, one of the central Flyway's most critical waterfowl habitats. Their river properties stretch from Oshkosh to Scottsbluff with a 70-mile swath of managed bottoms and creek beds.

Geothermal sloughs that never freeze combine with adjacent corn fields to create ideal wintering grounds. Annually they hold 250,000–500,000 mallards and up to 1,000,000 Canada geese (giants, lessers, and everything between).
