Location details and information

The Grand Island Rifle Club is a private membership-based shooting facility located at 4692 West Potash Hwy in Grand Island, Nebraska, offering diverse shooting sports including the popular Cowboy Action Shooting discipline.

The Grand Island Rifle Club is a 100% NRA-affiliated member club dedicated to promoting safe and responsible shooting sports in central Nebraska. The club hosts various shooting activities and educational programs throughout the year, welcoming shooters of all skill levels who meet membership requirements.

The club specializes in Cowboy Action Shooting, one of the fastest-growing shooting sports worldwide. This dynamic sport combines:

  • •Period-accurate competitions set in Old West town-style stages
  • •Multiple shooting stages requiring shooters to engage targets with historical firearms
  • •Age-based divisions allowing competitors to participate against similarly-aged participants
  • •Optional period dress ranging from simple to elaborate 1800s-era costumes

Cowboy Action competitions utilize authentic Old West-era firearms:

  • •Handguns: Single-action revolvers (.32 caliber or larger)
  • •Rifles: Lever or pump-action rifles in pistol caliber (.25 or larger)
  • •Shotguns: Pre-1900 style hammers or hammerless side-by-side, pumps, or lever models (20 gauge or larger)

The club is private and requires membership application approval. All members must maintain current NRA membership in good standing. New members are required to attend a Safety Orientation Meeting before joining. The club also holds an annual October Gun Show that attracts vendors and shooters from across the region.

Beyond Cowboy Action, the club offers Hunter Education courses, women's rifle classes, and maintains an indoor range with scheduled open hours.
