Full description and what we offer
Timberline Outfitters guides elk, mule deer, antelope, and cougar hunts across Eastern Nevada and statewide. They've built their reputation on one metric: 95%+ success rate over 25+ years, with an average bull size of 360+ for over a decade straight.
All hunts use spot-and-stalk tactics combining four-wheel drive vehicles, horses, and hiking. You'll hunt elevations from 7,000 to 10,000 feet—meaning you get within range before the shot. Scouting and filming happen year-round so guides know where the animals are.
All booked hunts come with: - Full guiding service (morning to night) - Transportation once you arrive in Ely - Trophy care and animal packing - Field lunches - Reference list available on request
No trophy fees—you pay for the hunt, keep what you harvest.
Hunters arrange their own lodging and meals in Ely. Timberline provides restaurant and hotel recommendations, or you can book their hunt camp for an additional fee.
Non-residents can apply for restricted guided hunt applications (Guide Tags) with much improved draw odds. Applications run February-early March. Total applicant fees are approximately $425 (tag, license, application). Hunt season runs early October to early November depending on unit. If you draw, you must hunt with Timberline.
Based in Ely, NV: - 245 miles north of Las Vegas - 180 miles southeast of Elko - 325 miles west of Reno - Commercial flights sometimes available into Ely airport from Las Vegas
Call by February if interested in Guide Tag applications. They'll help with application strategy and unit recommendations.
Thomas Brunson and his guides are Licensed, Insured, and Permitted by BLM and USFS to guide in NDOW Region II and statewide for mountain lion. Expect physical conditioning to matter—this is real hunting at elevation.
