Full description and what we offer

Folding Mountain Outfitters, owned and operated by Blair and Rebecca Miller, runs guided hunts from their lodge at Toad River, BC. Blair grew up farming and hunting in central BC and started guiding in 2003; Rebecca joined him after they married in 2006. They purchased Folding Mountain in winter 2013 and now run the operation with their three kids while managing horses and predator populations year-round.

The outfitter specializes in five primary game species:

SpeciesSeasonDetails
Stone SheepAug 1 – Oct 15Known for exceptional genetics and extensive predator management
Mountain GoatAug 25 – Oct 15Average 9-9.5", with 10"+ harvested regularly
MooseAug 23 – Oct 15Yukon sub-species genetics, high record-book scores
ElkSept 5 – 156-point regulation, large population, mature bulls
CaribouAug 20 – Sept 31Limited hunters to ensure consistent mature bull success

Every past trip has had multi catches with their personal best being 14 wolves, 2 wolverine, and a lynx in 5 days.

Trapline and lynx hunts run November through March via snowmobile out of their house. Trips are staggered two weeks apart so clients see the benefit of 300+ trap sets worked over 14 days. Guides show you how sets work and handle the hunt from snowmobile—described as "the most fun you can have in the winter."

Most hunts are 10-14 days with 1-on-1 guide ratios. After lodge arrival with orientation and gear check, hunters depart via horseback, backpack, or boat depending on species. Field accommodations range from remote cabin to wall tent to 4-season nylon tents. Food spans lodge-cooked meals to dehydrated pack meals based on circumstances.

Wounded Game Commitment: Policy states "if you draw blood that is your animal." The outfitter commits to full retrieval with additional support staff and will return on later hunts to continue searching if needed.

Blair and Rebecca attend the Safari Club International Convention and Wild Sheep Foundation Show annually (typically held January in Reno, Nevada). Look for their booth to discuss hunt opportunities and details.
