Hidden Lake Outfitters

Hidden Lake Outfitters is a family-owned guide service based in the Ruby Mountains of Northeastern Nevada. Owner and head guide Henry Krenka operates from his family's 125-year-old ranch, which serves as base camp for hunts. As president of the Nevada Outfitters and Guides Association, Krenka brings legitimacy and deep local knowledge to every trip.

Operating for over 30 years with lifelong Nevada guides

They guide hunts for mule deer, Rocky Mountain elk, mountain goat, antelope, bighorn sheep, and mountain lion. While they primarily hunt Areas 10 and 6 in Northeastern Nevada, they're licensed and able to guide nearly everywhere in the state.

• •Mule Deer Tag Draw Program — Hidden Lake Outfitters specializes in Nevada's Restricted Non-Resident Mule Deer Tag Draw. Their clients have achieved approximately 95% success rates for drawing tags in this pool, compared to 30% in the regular non-resident draw. Applications open mid-February; draw held mid-March.

• •Base Camp Hunt — Five-day minimum. Guided on horseback through mountain peaks with lodging and campfire meals provided. You bring personal gear.
• •Drop Camp Hunt — Hunters fly into secluded high-altitude camps in the Ruby Mountains. You provide all gear including food.

One of the few outfitters in the world offering Himalayan Snow Cock hunts. Daily upland trips (mid-October through end of February) for chukar and Hungarian partridge with wire-haired griffon pointing dogs. Other hunting dogs welcome.

Duck hunting on exclusive private property includes Franklin Lake, Ruby Lake Wildlife Refuge, and the Humboldt River. Hunt over decoys in blinds for mixed bags and Canvasback—with the Ruby Mountains as your backdrop.
