Full description and what to expect
Protective Pistol Skills is PFC’s 2-Day weapons-centric certification and is entirely range-based. Training includes combative concealed handgun skills & tactics as they apply to third person/principal defense, Principal Cover & Control Techniques, Lone Agent Pistol Skills (LAPS) Drills, Dismounted Agent Response & Evacuation (DARE) Drills, and the Protective Pistol Skills Live Fire Skills Test. A solid handgun operation foundation is required for attendance at this course. Enrollment: Open to active security professionals, law enforcement, the Department of Defense, government agencies, eligible government contractors, and approved civilians with a security industry affiliation. Pre-requisite: Approved prior commercial or occupational handgun training. STUDENT EQUIPMENT LIST: Standard range attire while conducting firearms training (weather-appropriate activewear, etc.) Semi-automatic pistol w/ at least three magazines 800 rounds of handgun ammunition Strong-side belt or paddle concealment holster * Support-side concealment magazine carrier(s) Belt for range work compatible w/ holster and magazine carrier Eye protection for day conditions and Ear protection Hat with brim Sturdy footwear for range Cover garments such as a vest or light jacket (for concealment drills) IMPORTANT NOTES:
