Full description and what we offer
Deadwater Adventures operates across Coos County—New Hampshire's largest county at nearly 2,000 square miles with just 16 people per square mile. Registered NH guide Jason Busfield has been hunting and fishing this territory since his father's first trip in 1960. They know where the big trout hide, where birds flush, and where bear and moose hang out.
Hunts for grouse, woodcock, and state-liberated pheasants depending on season. Deadwater runs English Setters with some of the best bloodlines in the country—their dogs are from Long Gone Setters, a champion field trial operation. You can bring your own dog or hunt over theirs.
Hunt over bait from ground blinds or tree stands. All baits are checked daily for activity. Northern New Hampshire has strong bear populations, and Deadwater has a solid track record on kills and sightings. If you pass an opportunity, you get quality photo ops.
NH moose season runs 10 days in mid-October. They guide lottery areas A1, A2, and B—all pre-scouted. Success rates are high in their territory. Hunts include transportation, field removal, and hanging facility.
All multi-day hunts require 50% deposit at booking, balance due on arrival.
Turkey: 3-day hunt ($650) or daily ($250) Deer: 3-day hunt ($495), daily ($175), or still-hunting ($225/day)
Wade and stream fishing or drift boat fishing on two of the Northeast's best trout waters.
"We know the area well. We have already done that exploring for you."
Beyond guide service, they breed and train gun dogs. Their English Setters come from champion field trial pedigrees.
Coos County's isolation is the draw. Lowest population density in New Hampshire means extensive wildlife habitat and minimal pressure. The Deadwater wilderness, the Androscoggin River, Connecticut River, and countless trout ponds and streams from Columbia through Pittsburg give Busfield decades of knowledge about where things happen and when.
Guides fill up during season. If booked, call back—guides free up and openings appear. Lunch is included on all-day hunts.
