Location details and information
Groveton Fish & Game Club operates separate rifle, pistol, and black powder ranges designed to keep shooters and activities properly segregated. This setup reduces conflicts and allows each range to enforce specific safety rules tailored to the firearms being used.
The range operates 8:00 A.M. until sundown daily. Access is restricted to members and their guests—members must be present when guests are shooting. Junior members under 16 must be supervised by a parent or guardian with full range privileges.
Wear your membership badge in plain view and be ready to produce your card when asked. It's how the club maintains order and security.
The club's approach is straightforward: all members have authority to enforce safety rules. This isn't passive—it's collective responsibility. Key mandatory rules across all ranges:
No fully automatic firearms, tracer/incendiary ammunition, or armor-piercing rounds on steel targets. Centerfire rifle ammo is prohibited on steel pistol targets.
Junior members under 21 cannot fire handguns unless accompanied by a qualified instructor, parent, or guardian who's a current club member. When loading handguns, keep the muzzle pointed downrange—never to the side.
For muzzleloader enthusiasts, the club maintains dedicated black powder facilities with strict protocols:
The Groveton Fish and Game Club is not responsible for enforcing State or Federal Firearms Laws. Members with legal questions should contact an attorney or law enforcement.
This is a range run by shooters who understand that consistent safety enforcement protects everyone.
