Beaverhead Outfitters is family-owned and operated by Jack, Kaye, John, and Crystal Diamond. Since 1989, they've been running hunts across over 3 million acres of public and private land in southwest New Mexico, headquartered at Beaverhead Ranch—a working cattle ranch in the heart of the Gila National Forest.
Beaverhead handles the New Mexico Department of Game & Fish lottery draw for you at no charge. You fill out their application form, select up to three hunt choices and accommodation preferences, and they submit it. If you draw a tag, they guide the hunt. They also offer guaranteed private landowner tags when available—50% deposit holds your spot.

Key Dates for 2025: NMDGF lottery deadline is March 19. 2024 harvest reports must be filed by February 15. Wilderness, late rifle, muzzle loader, and early bow hunts are easiest to draw.
The Gila covers 3.3 million acres—the sixth largest National Forest in the continental US. It's one of the most remote and least developed. Elevations range from 4,200 to 11,000 feet, with rugged mountains, deep canyons, meadows, and diverse wildlife including black bear, mountain lion, and elk.
