Brooklyn Taxidermy Studio teaches the actual craft of taxidermy—not just theory. You skin, mount, and finish your own specimen during class and walk out with a completed piece ready to display.

You don't buy supplies separately. Every class includes: - Professionally skinned and prepared specimen (or pre-selected butterflies/moths) - Anatomically correct foam mannequins or forms - Glass eyes, ear liners, pins, tape, tools - Wood bases or shadowbox frames - Gloves and all safety equipment - Props for anthropomorphizing (small mammal classes)
Optional glass domes ($40-60) available to protect your finished mount.
For lifesize mammal classes, you email to coordinate dates and availability. These are usually added by request.
Timing matters: - Arrive on time. Late arrivals of 15+ minutes forfeit their seat with no refund - If you arrive 30+ minutes late, you lose your spot - Classes won't start until everyone has arrived (opening directions are critical)
Rescheduling: - Brooklyn classes: $50 rescheduling fee if done 48+ hours before class start - Sugar Loaf classes: Free rescheduling if you notify 48+ hours in advance - No refunds for no-shows or cancellations - You can gift your seat to someone else at no cost—just email with their name
What happens in class: - BYOB (bring your own beverages, no food) - No photography, video, or audio recording during class - You can photograph your finished work and studio at the end - One person per seat—no sharing projects or splitting materials - Only registered students allowed in the studio

If you're new to taxidermy, the studio recommends starting with the Small Mammal Class before jumping to bird or lifesize classes.
Digital gift cards are instant—recipient gets a redemption code via email, valid for one year. The balance transfers between any class or merchandise in their online shop. If someone buys a $450 Chipmunk card but wants the $500 Starling class, they just pay the $50 difference at checkout.
