On Target Firearms

On Target Firearms runs an 18-lane indoor shooting range in Monroe County that's open to the public without requiring membership. Four of those lanes are private and reserved for professional training, certifications, and overflow. The range operates 7 days a week with automatic target retrieval systems, superior ventilation, and ballistic shooting booths designed for both new and experienced shooters.

Safety comes first here. Range officers staff the facility to answer questions, handle malfunctions, and watch the line. One catch: they won't let you on the range unless you already know firearms safety and have shooting experience. No exceptions. If you need to build those skills first, they offer a 3-hour basic safety and shooting fundamentals course that covers what you need to know.

They rent a variety of handguns for use at the range. Renters must have a valid New York State pistol permit and know what they're doing with firearms. All ammunition used with rentals must be purchased from On Target. Multiple rental packages available.

On Target is a Federal Firearms Licensed dealer with rifles, handguns, ammunition, and accessories in stock. Their staff can help you find what you're looking for. As an FFL, they handle firearm transfers—various types handled in-house.

They run the state-required 18-hour concealed carry permit and firearm safety training course ($289 per student). The course runs over two days—you must attend both. Fee includes all materials, firearm use, ammunition, targets, hearing and eye protection, and instruction from authorized instructors. Successful completion with a written exam and live fire qualification earns a certificate required for NYS pistol permit applications.

All courses are fully booked through December 2025. Waitlist available for January, February, and March 2026.

Dedicated spaces for security classes, law enforcement training, NRA certifications, and private instruction—all done onsite with instructors and range access.
