Cowboy Action Match at Tioga County Sportsmen's Association is a timed shooting competition where you work through Old West scenarios using period firearms—revolvers, lever rifles, and shotguns. You pick a cowboy alias, dress the part, and compete against the clock across multiple stages.
Each stage recreates a scenario from frontier life: a saloon shootout, a train robbery, a cattle drive encounter. You shoot from various positions and distances, moving between targets and reloading under time pressure. It's competitive without being cutthroat—the mix of shooting skill, gear knowledge, and costume creativity draws people back month after month.
