On Target Firearms runs a public indoor range in Webster with 18 shooting lanes—4 of them dedicated private bays for professional training, certifications, and overflow. You don't need a membership to shoot here. You do need firearms safety and shooting experience. That's non-negotiable. They won't let inexperienced shooters on the range under any circumstances.
If you're new to shooting, they offer a 3-hour basic safety and shooting fundamentals course that teaches you the fundamentals and gets you qualified to use the range.
The infrastructure matters. Superior ventilation keeps the air clean. Ballistic shooting booths contain projectiles. Automatic target retrieval gets your targets back to you without the walk downrange. Range officers are on staff during operating hours to handle questions, malfunctions, and safety.
The range stays open seven days a week: - Mon-Fri: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (range closes at 5:40 PM) - Sat: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM (range closes at 4:40 PM) - Sun: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM (range closes at 2:40 PM)
Closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.
On Target rents handguns for use on their range. Requirements are straightforward: - Valid NY State Pistol Permit - Firearms safety and shooting experience - All ammunition must be purchased from On Target Firearms
They offer rental packages but don't rent rifles or shotguns. Call for pricing and available models.
NRA-certified instructors run group classes and private instruction covering firearm handling, cleaning and care, NY State firearms laws, and skill development.
Group Classes: - Basic shooting fundamentals (1-on-1, up to 4 people) - NYS 18-hour Pistol Permit course (required for NY pistol permits) - NYS 47-hour Armed Security Guard firearms course — $525 - NYS 8-hour Armed Security Guard recertification — $135 - NYS 8-hour annual in-service training for security guards — $60
Private Instruction: One-on-one sessions with certified instructors. Available for handgun or long gun. Beginner-friendly or advanced skill development.
Two large training classrooms accommodate group classes, law enforcement training, and private sessions.
On Target Firearms is a Federal Firearms Licensed dealer with firearms in stock and handles firearm transfers.
A viewing lounge with tables, chairs, coffee, vending machines, and TVs overlooks the range. Sit, watch, rehydrate, and come back to it.
Safety First Policy: Range officers are on hand throughout operating hours. They answer questions, help troubleshoot malfunctions, and enforce range procedures.
