Tar River Waterfowl offers guided duck, goose, and whitetail hunts on over 200 acres of privately owned property near Grimesland. Owner Justin Nichols grew up farming this land and later realized most hunters never get access to terrain that combines fields, timber, swamps, river access, and abundant wildlife all in one place. He started the outfitter to share what he had.
Guided Duck & Goose Hunts - Expert-led hunts in prime wetland locations - Blinds, decoys, and bird cleaning access included - $200 through December; $300 January hunts
Guided Whitetail Deer Hunts - Afternoon or full-day options - Box stands and blind setups with strategic placement - Land management designed for trophy opportunities
Justin Nichols – Owner & Lead Guide. Studied Agricultural Business at NC State, earned a Welding Technology degree from Pitt Community College, and graduated from East Carolina University in Industrial Engineering. Previously taught welding and still teaches at Martin Community College. His philosophy: help others succeed, whether in the classroom or the field.
Bridget Nichols – Handles booking and client relations. She manages scheduling and logistics to make sure hunters show up prepared.
Jeremy Nichols – Scouting specialist and guide. Justin's brother knows the terrain and helps position hunters for success.
Friends of Tar River – Additional guides from the local community, all with deep knowledge of the land and passion for conservation.
