Full description and what we offer
TnA Guide Service operates waterfowl hunts along the Outer Banks near Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Captain Tim, a licensed guide, focuses on sink box and curtain blind hunts where Pamlico Sound provides sheltered wintering grounds for sea ducks.
You'll depart early—typically 5:00 AM from Hatteras Harbor Marina—in a 24-foot Carolina Skiff powered by a 150HP outboard. When weather picks up, the operation switches to larger center consoles for safety. Hunts run until 1:00 PM unless weather changes the schedule.
Both hunt types include blinds, decoys, and gratuities. The guide recommends a 12-gauge shotgun with steel shot—Captain Tim suggests Hevi-Shot for reliability on longer shots.
| Hunt Type | Price | Group Size |
|---|---|---|
| Sink Box Hunt | $1,200 | Up to 4 people |
| Pole Blind Hunt | $250/person | 2-6 hunters |
| Guided Hunt Add-on | +$100/day | Any hunt |
Prepare Before You Go: Bring a 100% rain coat, waders (check for leaks before arrival—spare gear available), and your valid North Carolina hunting license with waterfowl privilege plus Federal Duck Stamp.
50% deposit due at booking by card or check. Remaining balance at arrival. Deposits refund up to 20 days before your hunt date, or if the guide cancels due to extreme weather.
Captain Tim and his operation live and breathe the Outer Banks water—they're on it almost every day the year permits, either fishing or hunting. This isn't seasonal work; it's a way of life.
