| What You Get | What Costs Extra |
|---|---|
| Transportation during hunt | Processing/aging/sealing |
| Guiding | Ice purchase |
| Field dressing | Cooler rental (bring your own) |
| Skinning | |

Meat Processing Note: They age game for 5 days before cutting—not because it's easy, but because it's right. This makes meat more tender and flavorful. If you don't use their processing service, they'll quarter your meat and pack it on ice in your coolers at no charge.
Recent renovations invested over $30,000 into the lodge:
| Item | Cost |
|---|---|
| Lodging + meals per day | $50 per hunter |
| Non-hunter day fee (lodging + meals) | $100 |
| Deposit per animal | $100 ($100+ for special orders) |
| No-kill fee (if you don't harvest) | $150 (deposit forfeited) |
They've gained national attention for their elk program. Key differences from western outfitters:
According to USDA guidelines, hunting your own meat at Southern Ohio Hunting Preserve costs about the same or less than buying equivalent cuts from a grocery store—but it's clean, organic, and free from antibiotics, steroids, and growth stimulators. You know where it came from, what it ate, and how it lived.
They have a skilled taxidermist on staff and access to a walk-in cooler for proper handling of harvested animals from field to finish.
Group discounts available, but only if the original number of hunters and booking dates remain unchanged.
At Southern Ohio Hunting Preserve, you'll either see a photo of the animal you're hunting or get something even better in person. If not, they refund your deposit—no hard feelings.
