PMD Gunsmithing, LLC is run by Phil Dyer and his crew out of Giant Eagle Plaza on Elm Road in Warren—two doors down from the BMV. They handle firearms from 1900 to present day, and restoration work is their specialty.

Their philosophy is simple: understand the design, understand how it's supposed to function, then fix what's actually broken. That means no part-swapping-until-it-works nonsense. They know a 1911 should function a certain way, a rifle stock should feel a certain way, and they repair with that in mind. After every repair, the gun gets cleaned, lubricated properly, and tested for function.

They treat every firearm like it's their own.

Buying a gun online? PMD processes transfers for $25—not $75. They're already registered with most major online distributors. If they're not listed with the site you're using, call them, they'll submit their FFL info, and you're good to go. When your gun arrives, come in, fill out paperwork, pass the background check, and leave with your purchase.
