Full description and what we offer
Mike Connett owns and operates Wide Rack Outfitters, an archery-only hunting operation in Gallia County, southeastern Ohio—about two hours south of Columbus. He's a retired U.S. Air Force Commander, published outdoor writer, and has spent over 50 years bow hunting.
Wide Rack manages a core hunting area of 500+ acres and keeps client numbers deliberately small. The operation has guided more than 100 archers to their largest archery buck. If a group wants to book the entire camp for a week, they can accommodate larger parties.
Since 1996, they've run a Quality Deer Management Program on the property. They request hunters only harvest deer scoring a minimum of 125 inches gross Pope and Young. Multiple food plots, minerals, and feeding stations are managed year-round for both deer and turkey.
| Hunt Dates (2025) | Cost |
|---|---|
| November 3-7 | $3,000 |
| November 10-14 | $3,000 |
| November 17-21 | $3,000 |
First-time hunters, children, and handicapped sportsmen and women are all welcome. They also offer turkey hunts—check the website for dates and pricing.
On-site housing is provided. If you prefer off-site accommodations, suitable motels are available in the area at your own expense.
His camp rules capture the outfitter's approach: "Hunt today like it is your last day to hunt." Respect the game, appreciate the experience, hunt hard with quality preparation, and remember why you got into archery hunting in the first place—to have fun.
