Full description and what we offer
Black Mountain Hunts is a family-owned hunting ranch built on Tim and Victoria Paxton's lifelong dream. The 160-acre property sits in the hills of Okemah, Oklahoma with a mix of dense woodland and rocky terrain—each environment offers different challenges depending on what you're after.
The ranch operates both high-fenced and low-fenced land, and here's what sets them apart: you don't need a guide to hunt. That means you control the pace, the strategy, and the experience.
Hogs are the main draw. The ranch stocks boar hogs year-round, and packages let you take multiple animals in a single trip.
Exotics include aoudad, axis, fallow, blackbuck, sika, Pere David, oryx, bison, and rams. Call for current availability and pricing.
| Package | Duration | Lodging | Hogs | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| One | 1 day | No | 1 | $350 |
| Two | 2 days | 2 nights | 2 | $600 |
License Required: Captive feral swine hunting requires a $25 Oklahoma license (annual). Exotic hunts don't need a license. Apply at ag.ok.gov/ais/feralswine.htm.
Stay in the bunkhouse with provided bed sheets. You'll need to bring your own sleeping bag, blanket, pillow, and towels. Bring whatever food and drink you want—the place is flexible about your hunt experience.
If you want help with field dressing: - Skin and Quarter: $45 each - Cape and Quarter: $85 each
Okemah sits just an hour east of Oklahoma City or an hour south of Tulsa via I-40. Easy drive, real hunting.
"This was the best 1st time hunting trip for me and a wonderful anniversary for both of us. You have a beautiful place and home." — Michelle and Tom Chisholm
What to Bring: Blaze orange hat and vest (available for purchase on-site), firearms .243 and up, or bow.
