Shooting WIth Xray Vision – Instructor is not just another shooting class. It is a true instructor class, designed by instructors for experienced instructors. Your instructors, Dr. James Williams and Chuck Haggard, are nationally recognized teachers who have over half a century of teaching experience between them. This class is designed to give the instructor-student new tools to use in his or her own classes after you leave. Dr. Williams has been an ER, ICU, and trauma physician for the past 35 years. He served as a police medical officer and SWAT team medic in Wisconsin until 2011, and has been instructing the Tactical Anatomy curriculum since 2004. He was a regular instructor at ILEETA and IALEFI for many years, and was keynote speaker for the IALEFI international conference in 2009. He has been conducting SXRV-Instructor on an occasional basis since 2004, generally reserving it for law enforcement groups only until 2011, when he opened it to non-sworn personnel. The class was not held from 2014 until 2022, but because of persistent demand Dr. Williams has revived and revitalized the course for modern instructors. Dr. Williams has plans to retire from medical practice by 2028, and will likely retire from active teaching then as well. As such, the 2026 class will probably be the second-last Shooting With Xray Vision class. Chuck Haggard retired from active police work several years ago but returned to it almost immediately and continues as an active cop today. He has been teaching firearms and tactics from his vast experience in the field for over 25 years. Chuck is particularly well known for his work in teaching terminal ballistics and evaluating effectiveness of specific ammunition exemplars. He has been recognized for his instructional excellence by several national organizations. He has been one of the SXRV-I instructors since we revived the course in 2022 and we are delighted to have him back again this year. Attendees will be exposed to a vast body of knowledge that the instructors have studied for many years. Topics to be covered in the class include the historical context of this field; the realities of gunfights and other armed conflicts; practical ballistics, including external and terminal ballistics; medical realities of human anatomy and physiology; gunshot wounds/wounding and incapacitation; modeling of 3-dimensional anatomy in time and space; adult learning realities; instructional tips and tricks for teaching realistic ballistic targeting to students. Attendees should expect this to be an actual 16-hour class. You will be challenged to learn as you have rarely been challenged before.
