David Elderton founded OKC Firearms Training to provide quality defensive firearms instruction at reasonable prices. His credentials speak for themselves: In 1976, he outshot 320 other recruits on the rifle range during Marine Corps boot camp—his first shooting award. After leaving active duty, he served in law enforcement and helped train a 120-person police department as an NRA Certified Police Firearms Instructor.
Today, Elderton competes in USPSA matches at the GrandMaster level in 3 divisions and has won over 50 State and Regional titles. He's known on Oklahoma radio as "David the Marine" on KTOK 1000's weekly Firearms Friday segment. His 35 years of teaching experience are immediately apparent: he's confident without being smug, his relaxed style puts students at ease, and clients consistently report shock at how much progress they've made by the end of the day.

From Carlo Madrid, M.D.: "I had never owned or fired a gun. At first, I couldn't even hit a large target seven yards away. I am now a proficient shooter... He improved my skills so much I placed in the middle of 85 shooters at my first competition. David has 35 years of training experience, has trained law enforcement officers, and is a former marine. In addition, he is a triple ranked Grand Master."
From Scott Evans: "The day was fun, educational, and I met a great group of guys led by a fantastic instructor. Learning how to effectively draw from a holster, re-holster, correct grip techniques—truly invaluable if you own a firearm and plan to carry it."
OKC Firearms Training provides free downloadable drills for home practice:
These are meant for dry-fire and live-fire practice between classes.
