The Oklahoma Rough Riders are a division of the Oklahoma City Gun Club dedicated to Historic 3-Gun (H3G), an action shooting sport focused on firearms and tactics from the 1900-WWII era, with emphasis on the 1915 period.
H3G was created by shooters who wanted to continue developing their sport while preserving the core concepts of action shooting. It combines the best elements of USPSA and Wild Bunch into a standalone sport.
Core features: - High round counts and constant movement - 1911 pistol and pump shotgun (87, 97, or M12) across all divisions - Six divisions based on rifle choice (including Bootlegger division with wider firearm options) - Squad-based competition with peer spotting, timing, and scoring - Period-appropriate uniforms and clothing from early 1900s era - Safety-first culture: no minor violations—only procedural penalties or match disqualification
"Safety is rule number one and always will be." — H3G Philosophy
